Metro South Hospital and Health Service

Acute Campus Strategic Master Plans

Project Information

Destravis was engaged by MSHHS to conduct master plans across their major health facilities in the HHS, including:

  • Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH)
  • Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital  (QEII)
  • Logan Hospital
  • Redland Hospital.

This presented a unique opportunity to consider the requirements for the HHS as a whole and to consider the most efficient and effective options for investment in capital infrastructure on each of these campuses to ensure quality health service delivery throughout the HHS.

A structured, planned approach to capital infrastructure renewal, refurbishment or development allowed for expansion or redistribution of services across the HHS to meet increased demand for services.

Each plan included:

  • Site and desktop analysis focusing on existing infrastructure, building conditions and the functionality of the main hospital and support buildings
  • User group workshops and reviews
  • Master plan options development
  • Preliminary cost plans
  • Preferred option identification and detailed development
  • Detailed cost plan.

Each campus plan has been developed as a carefully considered, multi staged approach (incorporating well-managed decanting staging) to allow flexibility in priority response whilst ensuring further investment in the existing campus and building stock is strategic and offers a value for money solution.
