The Victorian Government has provided up to $1.5 billion to deliver a new Footscray Hospital – the largest health infrastructure investment in Victoria.
The new Footscray Hospital will support the increasing demand from Melbourne’s booming western suburbs, ensuring families can get the care they need closer to home. It will provide an increase of nearly 200 beds, treat almost 15,000 additional patients and enable around 20,000 additional people to be seen by the emergency department each year.
The project is being delivered by the Victorian Health and Human Services Building Authority, in partnership with Western Health, and is expected to open in 2025.
Destravis is working for VHHSBA as client-side technical advisor for health planning. The scope of our engagement included preparation of Functional Design Brief and Master Schedule of Accommodation to inform the PPP tender process.
The Victoria Government has shortlisted three PPP consortia to design, construct, finance and maintain the new Hospital.
Destravis Technical Advisor role now involves evaluation of Offers with relation to health planning and facility functionality and to provide advisory ongoing review and assessment of final design and construction documents on behalf of VHHSBA.
