Jumbunna Indigenous House of Learning provides significant research as well as student support at UTS. The relocation of this unit enabled the new Director to align their work and education environments to their long term strategy.
Destravis worked closely with the stakeholders within Jumbunna and UTS to develop the functional brief for their new student and staff spaces.
The particular focus of this project was to create functional spaces that provided discrete areas for each group to feel comfortable, whilst still creating spaces for interaction that brought everyone together in a sense of community.
The project also sought to actively engage with the broader UTS population by creating a learning hub that blurred the boundaries of the Jumbunna Indigenous House of Learning so that all students could develop a richer understanding of indigenous culture.
